Living Large, Living Luxury – 5 Star Resorts in Goa!

Hotels in Goa
From Parties to adventure, sunbathing to sightseeing and Churches to forts, Goa has it all. One of the best Holiday destination, Goa is known for its stunning Portuguese architecture, Tranquil Beaches, Maddening Music Festivals, fantastic food and humongous forts. Goa doesn’t let anyone Goa empty handed.

Aguada, Baga, Candolim , Mandrem , Anjuna and Morjim Beaches have attained worldly fame. Aguada is considered one of the cleanest beaches of Goa, while Anjuna is known for its Trance Music and Mandrem is appreciated for its peace and privacy. Amongst forts, Fort Aguada is most renowned, the fort attracts tourists by its Portuguese architecture and well preserved lighthouse.  One can also explore Basilica of Bom Church, Church of St Cajetan and Se Cathedral in Goa.

There are several 5 Star Hotels in Goa but none of them can beat the luxury that Royal Orchid Hotel provides its guests.  If you are looking for a calm and peaceful holiday, this property in South Goa suits you best. Whereas if you are looking for a party hot spot, you must explore options in North Goa.  Goa has pleasant weather throughout the year but attracts maximum tourists during December and January due to its massive New Year’s Party and International Music Festival – Sun-Burn . If you wish to leave behind the troubles of life and relish the beauty of nature while celebrating , Goa is all you need.

An idyllic Holiday in One of The Best 5 Star Resorts in Goa

beach resorts in goa
In this day and age, it is quite difficult to take time off from our busy lives. However, this New Year, as our resolution, we decided to just take off randomly for a holiday, deliberately switching off the humdrum of our ordinary lives. So just a few days into the New Year we took off on a blissful holiday to the tropical haven of Goa. In the cool of January, the Goan sun felt mesmerizing on our skin. Taking in the Goan breeze was soothing.

Very randomly, we chose to look for a resort in South Goa, known for its idyllic beaches and laidback character, which is just what we wanted. Going through various traveling agents and online research we settled on The Royal Orchid and after spending a good five days in the resort, we can positively categorize it as one of the finest 5 star resorts in Goa.  The lush front gardens and the very amazing pool made our short trip to this heavenly place even more remarkable. At the Sunken Bar, we sipped some exotic beverages which just made our day. For dinner, we chose to go for some scrumptious barbequed delicacies from the sea at Bar-be-que, and we were delighted at the quality of their offerings. A wholesome holiday is what we could call it, although it would have been better if we had taken some of the Goa beach resorts packages. It would have benefitted us hugely. Albeit, this is one of the best hotels to stay at in South Goa and we would definitely recommend it.

The Royal Orchid- A Wonderful Luxury Beach Resort in Goa

beach resorts in goa
So let’s face it-if you live in India, you are going to be planning a vacation to Goa sooner or later in your life! And there’s a bunch of really good hotels you can stay in.

I was really confused since most hotels look really amazing on their websites and if we are being honest- a Goan holiday basically boils down to one question really-North Goa or South Goa!

Decide the answer to that question and your holiday is sorted. I’ll give you a quick idea- North Goa is known for its nightlife and South Goa is known as a more laidback vacation spot.

I chose South Goa and settled on the Royal Orchid Beach Resort and Spa and I have to say, as far as luxury accommodations in Goa are concerned, this resort seems to be one of the few really good ones.

I stayed here for the extended Republic Day weekend and it was actually great! The Club Room with its pool view was simply put- royal! Classy interiors and all the modern amenities-it was a sight for sore eyes!

My day went roughly like this- an early morning swim in the resort’s pool, then out I would head for sightseeing-flea markets, beaches, and the usual. I would come back and go for a relaxing session at their spa- I believe the name is Sohum Spa (I got a coco body massage one day and a vanilla one the next day).

And then end my day with a wonderful meal on deck at their multi-cuisine restaurant,Cosmos!

They have a few other restaurants- all in quite idyllic locations.

Overall, a wonderful stay! I definitely recommend this place!
