So let’s face it-if you live in India, you are going to be planning a vacation to Goa sooner or later in your life! And there’s a bunch of really good hotels you can stay in.
I was really confused since most hotels look really amazing on their websites and if we are being honest- a Goan holiday basically boils down to one question really-North Goa or South Goa!
Decide the answer to that question and your holiday is sorted. I’ll give you a quick idea- North Goa is known for its nightlife and South Goa is known as a more laidback vacation spot.
I chose South Goa and settled on the Royal Orchid Beach Resort and Spa and I have to say, as far as luxury accommodations in Goa are concerned, this resort seems to be one of the few really good ones.
I stayed here for the extended Republic Day weekend and it was actually great! The Club Room with its pool view was simply put- royal! Classy interiors and all the modern amenities-it was a sight for sore eyes!
My day went roughly like this- an early morning swim in the resort’s pool, then out I would head for sightseeing-flea markets, beaches, and the usual. I would come back and go for a relaxing session at their spa- I believe the name is Sohum Spa (I got a coco body massage one day and a vanilla one the next day).
And then end my day with a wonderful meal on deck at their multi-cuisine restaurant,Cosmos!
They have a few other restaurants- all in quite idyllic locations.
Overall, a wonderful stay! I definitely recommend this place!
